Eric

HR Solution Center Associate, Human Resources

"I’m always amazed by the dedication and drive of everyone here. I’ve never worked at a place where everyone is this passionate about excellence in their work."

Human Resources supports Weill Cornell Medicine’s faculty and staff members throughout their careers, which requires a diverse portfolio of services ranging from recruitment to benefits administration to employee relations and development. No matter what one of our 7,000 employees may need, their first point of contact is usually the HR Solution Center (HRSC), where Eric works as an associate. “We’re here to make sure that our faculty and staff have the information and support they need. They often call us at major moments in their lives—like the birth of a child or big move to a new home—and we want to help put them at ease.”

The variety of work in the HRSC is one of the things Eric that enjoys most about his role. He fields requests from employees and department leaders, creates reports, and enters and updates information in HR’s database. “No two days are ever the same. In some places, you may do the same thing day in and day out, but here, you can’t have set expectations for what your day will hold. My work runs the gamut of everything HR has to offer, which lets me build a general knowledgebase that helps serve the wider Weill Cornell Medicine community.”

Prior to joining the HRSC, Eric worked on both the immigration and onboarding teams within HR. It allowed him to develop different areas of expertise and prepared him for his current role that requires knowledge of a variety of HR services. “I’ve been very fortunate to have the career path that I’ve had. It gave me a chance to see different areas within the department, and it also shows how HR is a great field for people who want to keep learning.”

In all three of Eric’s roles within HR, he’s been impressed by the extraordinary level of commitment among his colleagues, as well as the Weill Cornell Medicine employees he’s had an opportunity to meet. “I’m always amazed by the dedication and drive of everyone here. I’ve never worked at a place where everyone is this passionate about excellence in their work.”

What would Eric tell someone considering a career at Weill Cornell Medicine? “Apply here if you want to work, if you want to learn, and if you want to develop your skills. It’s welcoming, it’s supportive, and there’s a tremendous opportunity for growth."
