Professional Development

We hire staff with exceptional skills, but we also recognize the importance of investing in their professional growth over time. We encourage employees to enhance their skills and develop new areas of expertise through tuition reimbursement benefits, access to discounted courses, attending conferences related to their roles, and professional development classes.

Highlights

Employee Tuition Benefits

Weill Cornell Medicine is lucky to call New York City home for a number of reasons, but one is the wide range of the educational options available for our staff at local universities, businesses, and educational institutions. We offer tuition reimbursement for work-related courses or courses taken to meet the requirements of a work-related degree or certificate program (online or in-person). We also provide eligible employees over the age of 55 with a Career Life benefit, which provides tuition reimbursement for courses that assist with planning a second career or a hobby.

eCornell

eCornell is a subsidiary of our parent university that provides online professional and executive development, with more than 20 award-winning online certificate programs in a wide variety of disciplines, including leadership and healthcare management, finance, marketing, project leadership, and systems design. Weill Cornell Medicine employees are eligible for special tuition rates for eCornell courses.

Lectures, Conferences, and Trainings

Weill Cornell Medicine hosts on-campus lectures and presentations from leading doctors, scientists, and researchers throughout the year. Depending on your department and role, you also may have opportunities to attend conferences and trainings related to your field.

Note that all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements.
